First and foremost, I would like to graciously say- thanks for joining me! I have no idea what I’m doing (who does?), no real end-goal, and I’m not a writer by any stretch of the imagination so please do not judge me for any grammatical errors here! Mostly, I have been in search of myself and who/what I am going to grow in to in this world someday. The ripe age of twenty-four is swiftly upon me, so what better time to start than now?
I am going to take my time finding my voice here, so that I don’t fall into anything inauthentic or surface-level. However, so far, I can tell you with certainty the following about who I am:
- I like motivating others, which is why I believe I have found so much passion and success in teaching cycling classes.
- I could never be vegan. Eating brings me more joy than any other enjoyable activity and I simply couldn’t fathom taking that away from myself. That being said, I have tried every diet and food trend known to man and all to no avail. It has been hard to find peace with my body and the shape with which it is comfortable conforming to, but at the end of the day the quality and quantity of love around us is not dependent on our jean size or amount of belly rolls.
- Speaking of breakfast burritos (ha, I wasn’t talking about them but I was sure thinking about them so here we are)… my favorite food combos are the following: breakfast burritos (bacon, not sausage) and cold brew coffee, veggie-loaded pizza and IPA, and Willamette Pinot with anything.
- I currently reside in San Luis Obispo, CA and I find an endless amount of beauty here. As someone who did not grow up here, I actually found this place and consciously decided to stay. I feel very lucky for that, considering it is a town largely unknown by outsiders, and yet it is one of the most lovely places to live. Between the Mediterranean climate, being surrounded by wine country in nearly every direction, and the year-round availability of local food provisions, the Central Coast is a life-lover’s paradise. For my job, I get to market and promote San Luis Obispo using those highlights mentioned, all of which I am very enthusiastic about. It’s pretty awesome.
I could go on, but that’s enough for now. Like I said, I need to find my voice. Sometime, somewhere, I know it will show up. Perhaps it even finds me before I find it. In the meantime, I promise if you hang in there and put up with me for a while, I’ll give you a reason to stay!
